Hi! My name is Ms. Rivas and I am happy to be your counselor at ACRMA8. My journey to become a counselor was influenced by many experiences I faced along the way as a student and an educator for many years. I've lived in LA county all my life. When I was a child, I was never satisfied with the school system. I complained a lot as child but with limited school options I had no choice and no voice. As I got older I channeled that energy to learn more and work in the education field to support the students in need of equity.
I’m here to support you with life challenges, teach life and academic skills, to prepare you for a successful lifelong journey. Throughout my college journey I was driven by the students I worked with along the way. I find it very rewarding when I see my students progress and succeed.
Outside of work, I love to spend time with my family. I love beaches and parks and enjoy them even more when my two dogs accompany me. Other things I enjoy doing are: traveling, drinking boba tea, dancing and learning. Education: California State University, Long Beach
Master's of Science in Counseling- PPS Credential
